How to make a Tax-Deductible ContributionWomen in Jazz Fund DriveJoin in preserving and enhancing Austin's artistic and cultural heritage through the Women in Jazz Concert Series. We invite you to join our growing team of contributors to experience with us the wonderful world of jazz as it is performed by women from Austin and around the country. As of November 1, 2011 the following sponsorships are available to corporations, businesses and individuals. Invest in a Golden Marketing OpportunityWomen in Jazz Association, Inc. was founded by Pamela and Kevin Hart to provide Women in Jazz Concert Series and Vocal Performance Workshops for performance opportunities and experiences of professional and amateur jazz vocalists in the Austin metropolitan area. Women in Jazz Association, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Austin, Texas, "the live music capital of the world," can boast of very little live music that includes jazz vocals. Since the venues in Austin that consistently provide jazz music book vocalists much less than other musicians, jazz vocalists create their own entertainment venues in Austin. Women in Jazz Concert Series is the outgrowth of the need for a performance venue for women jazz vocalists. There’s no better place to connect with jazz enthusiast and leaders across the Central Texas region. Women in Jazz (WIJ) is pleased to announce their year-ending 2011 community service and Fall concert event. Held on two consecutive weekends, the events will attract more than 200 Austin youth and 200 concert goers to Austin, one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the nation, for a richly rewarding round of youth workshops, presentations, forums, a concert, exhibits, and so much more. Join us as we invest in our future on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the George Washington Carver Museum, Boyd Vance Theater, and Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Meltzers’ Uptown Pub Restaurant and Bar by enjoying four of the finest vocalists in Austin, Pamela Hart, Sondra Johnson, Valarie Scott, and Thomas Hughes. Some Women in Jazz Accolades from previous events include the following: · "An incredible musical event." · "A powerful lineup of talent." · "Impressive production values." The Purpose of Women in Jazz Association: The purpose of Women in Jazz Association is to perpetuate the appreciation and performance of traditional jazz vocal and instrumental music. As vocal jazz is a declining art form, this purpose is charitable -- the protection and preservation of a valuable art form called jazz; that is, vocal jazz. It is through concerts, educational workshops, and performance opportunities of singers that provide the means to the end -- perpetuate vocal jazz music.
